Greg Gard already signed four quality players through the transfer portal to fill the spots left by 10 players who left the Wisconsin Badgers either as seniors or transfer portal hopefuls.

He is not done working though as recent reports quoted him as sayin that he needs one more.

“We are still actively recruiting another spot, so, we will add one more, I don’t know when,” he told Badger 247’s Nick Osen.

“But, we are in that process of continuing to add as we move forward. Will it be a scholarship or a walk-on, Don’t know yet, likely scholarship is what we are having some conversations about with quite a few people. But, just making sure it is fit, and a lot of things that are in play.”

Currently, the team has 14 players in the roster. The limit is 15.

However, they said that they can expand it beyond if they desire.

Their starting five looks good right now with the addition of Nick Boyd, Austin Rapp, Andrew Rohde, and Braden Carrington.

They will replace several starting five members – John Tonje, Max Klesmit, and Steven Crowl – and key rotation guy Carter Gilmore.

Wisconsin Badgers’ international prospects

Badgers have been very active this offseason and their scope is not limited to America

Just recently, it was reported that they are interested in signing 6’7 Croatian small forward Ivan Bogdanovic who scores 18 points per game in a pro league in Montenegro.

Before that, they were also attached to Serbian players who play KK Mega Basket, the former club of NBA superstar and big man blueprint Nikola Jokic.

They already have commitment from Australians Hayden Jones (2025) and Jackson Ball (2026), and Lithuanian forward Aleksas Bieliauskas (2025).
