Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are expected headline another huge summer transfer window in the Premier League, while there’s plenty going on across Europe
The 2023-24 season isn’t over yet but the summer transfer window is rapidly approaching!
While clubs and players will have to contend with Euro 2024, the Copa America and even the Olympic Games over the coming months, it’s set to be a busy summer across Europe and beyond. Premier League sides are likely to lead the way financially, with Manchester United already plotting a major overhaul which could revolve heavily around Jadon Sancho.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are on the hunt for a new striker amid reports that the Gunners are ready to listen to offers for current No. Gabriel Jesus. Former Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres is rumoured to be a target, while Chelsea could swoop for the Sporting Lisbon hotshot if their attempt at signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli fails.
There’s also the small matter of Liverpool having a new manager, with Arne Slot all but confirmed to be the Reds’ new boss. The Dutch tactician wants to put his own stamp on the squad, fuelling talk of some high-profile exits.
Chelsea after another Shakhtar star
A year and a half after spending big on Mykhailo Mudryk, Chelsea could be about to raid Shakhtar Donetsk once more.
According to The Mail, the Premier League side have opened talks over a move for Georgiy Sudakov, a Ukraine international midfielder.
The 21-year-old scored his first senior Ukraine goal in the autumn, during a Euro 2024 qualifier against North Macedonia.
Man Utd told Thiago Silva would be good for them
Thiago Silva is due to leave Chelsea in the summer, and former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes Manchester United would be a good fit for the veteran.
A return to Brazil has been mooted, with few suggestions Silva plans to stay in England, but Lawrenson has talked up what would be a surprise move if it materialises.
‘” could possibly see him going to Old Trafford in the summer, and you’d know that he would be a good signing for him as long as he can stay fit,” the pundit told Paddy Power.
“He’s been a top player but also he looks fit, and can play the ball out from the back comfortably, which is something that Manchester United haven’t had from their central defenders this season.”
