Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make some serious moves in the transfer window this summer.
Spurs have already spent big money to bring Archie Gray to the club, and with a new striker and a new midfielder still potentially set to arrive, there could be some more big spending to come at Tottenham.
Eberechi Eze is a player who has been linked with a move to Spurs in recent times, and according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1TV, Tottenham could well trigger the player’s release clause.
Indeed, according to Kay, someone will trigger Eze’s £60m release clause this summer, and he named Spurs as the most likely club to do this big-money deal ahead of Arsenal.
Tottenham more likely to trigger Eberechi Eze’s release clause
Kay shared what he knows about the Crystal Palace star.
“We’re not the only people looking at him. He has a £60m release clause, which is a lot of money, and Tottenham are looking at him. From what I’m hearing Tottenham are probably ahead of Arsenal in signing him. They’re more likely to trigger the release clause than we are,” Kay said.
“I expect Eze to move on and someone to trigger that release clause whether it’s Arsenal or Tottenham, and the fact they want Emile Smith Rowe is a mirror image to Eze, they’re the same player.”
Eze to Tottenham could be signing of the summer
There are so many reasons to be excited by this potential signing at Spurs.
Eze is exactly the type of player who thrives at a team like Tottenham. He’s a maverick playmaker who has that touch of magic about him.
Of course, whether or not Spurs do cough up the necessary cash to get this deal done remains to be seen, but it does sound as though Tottenham are leading the race to sign the England international as things stand.
Eze could be an incredible addition to what is already a very exciting Spurs team.
