The Next Big Defensive Star: Tetairoa Picked by Jets to Pair with Garrett Wilson in…

The New York Jets‘ most pressing need as things stand is to find Aaron Rodgers’ replacement.

While that might be in-house with Tyrod Taylor, in free agency with Justin Fields, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, or in the draft, it can be said that it is the most urgent priority for the franchise.

But if the Jets manage to sort out their quarterback situation before the draft, which way will Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey go?

In CBS Sports’ latest mock draft, the Jets get Garrett Wilson some help on offense in the form of Arizona stud Tetairoa McMillan.

“New York’s answer at quarterback is still very much unknown, but it is clear a need remains at wide receiver alongside Garrett Wilson,” CBS Sports writes . “Tetairoa McMillan gives them a bigger-bodied complementary skill set in the offense.

Coming off a stellar 2024 season that saw him total 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns, McMillan could be a great piece next to Wilson in 2025. With his huge frame and ability to get downfield, whoever is throwing him the ball in 2025 will have a big target to aim at.

Despite his size, McMillan isn’t the most physical receiver, but that could come at the NFL level after a few offseasons, and with Wilson opposite him, the rookie could see some favorable matchups, particularly in the red zone due to his elite ball skills.

Yes, the Jets need a quarterback and other needs, but on offense, it is often Wilson or bust, and with McMillian, it has the potential to be a nice one-two punch for Gang Green.
