The best rounds for the Bears to address their areas of need in the 2025 NFL Draft

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The son of Brian Urlacher has entered the transfer portal and will leave Notre Dame after just one year on the team.

On3.com and several other news outlets are reporting that safety Kennedy Urlacher has put his name in the portal.

Urlacher played mostly on special teams for Notre Dame during his freshman season, but did see some action at safety.

He is considered a hard hitter like his Hall of Fame father, but he doesn’t have his dad’s size and there have been some questions about his pass coverage ability.

The safety position at Notre Dame is full of talented young players, including Tae Johnson, Luke Talich and Jadon Blair.

All-American safety Xavier Watts is leaving for the NFL but starter Adon Shuler will be coming back as a junior and Virginia Tech grad transfer Jalen Stroman is also on the roster at safety.

Urlacher had many scholarship offers when he committed to Notre Dame, including offers from Arizona and Arizona State, the state where he lives.
