Real Madrid prioritising 2025 summer move for William Saliba

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid have made Arsenal defensive mainstay William Saliba their priority target for the summer of 2025.

According to a report from Le10Sport, Real Madrid will look to reinforce their backline in the summer of 2025 on a priority basis and Arsenal’s William Saliba will be their top target. The French centre-back has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the game and Los Blancos would be willing to go all out to sign him.

Saliba had made quite a name for himself coming up the ranks at Saint-Etienne. The Gunners signed him back in the summer of 2019. In the initial years, he had a few loan spells away from the English club but managed to cement his spot in their first team in the 2022/23 season.

The 23-year-old centre-back has only gone from strength to strength in recent seasons, and he is now considered to be one of the best in the world. The Frenchman is a cornerstone in Mikel Arteta’s team and still has well over two years left on his deal. But his future could become a massive talking point as Real Madrid have their eyes on his services.

Saliba will be Real Madrid’s priority for 2025

Los Blancos wanted to sign Leny Yoro in the summer, but they were not ready to overpay and ended up losing out on him. With David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger on the wrong side of 30, they need to bring in a young centre-back who can partner with Eder Militao, and they feel Saliba could be the perfect fit.

He is only 23 and will only get better with time. The Spanish giants believe he has all the qualities needed to succeed at the club and have made him their priority target for the next summer window. Real Madrid have already started working towards a potential transfer.

Real Madrid representatives have already reached out to the player’s entourage. While it is just an initial contact, they want to make their intentions quite clear. Given how important he is to Arteta’s team, the Spanish manager will do everything in his power to keep hold of the 23-year-old. But Ancelotti’s team will look to flex their financial muscles to convince the £190,000-a-week star and his club.
