Real Madrid legend bids farewell with powerful message – ‘Not a goodbye, it is a see you later’

Luka Modric has officially played his final match for Real Madrid. The Croatian legend, who has worn the famous white jersey for 13 unforgettable years, stepped onto the pitch one last time during the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Unfortunately, the match ended in a heavy 0-4 defeat, but the moment was still special for Modric and his fans.

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso made sure Modric got his chance to say goodbye on the field. Despite the disappointing result, the crowd in the United States gave him a warm and emotional send-off.

At almost 40 years old, Modric is now preparing for his next challenge in his career. The midfield maestro is set to join AC Milan, where he will continue to play at the highest level.

But before closing this chapter, he shared a heartfelt message with Real Madrid fans on his social media.

“My house is 13 years old. My forever home. This is not a goodbye, it is a see you later, Real Madrid,” wrote Modric, showing his deep connection to the club and its supporters.

Modric set for new adventure with AC Milan

While no official statement has been made by either club, Modric’s move to AC Milan is all but confirmed.

A few weeks ago, Milan’s sporting director, Igli Tare, revealed that the club had reached an agreement with the Croatian star. He praised Modric’s hunger for success and highlighted his winning mentality.

“The first thing Luka asked me was if we are building a team to win the championship,” Tare shared, proving that Modric’s ambition remains strong even after all these years.

Milan’s new coach, Massimiliano Allegri, also spoke openly about Modric’s arrival. During his presentation as head coach, he said:

“We are waiting for Luka Modric. He will arrive in August. He’s an extraordinary player who needs no introduction.”

For now, Real Madrid fans are left with memories of Modric’s brilliant career at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his football journey is not over just yet.
