According to Fichajes, Real Madrid have turned their attention to a more practical and cost-effective solution in their hunt for a central defender.
While big names like William Saliba and Ibrahima Konate remain dream targets, the club has identified Sevilla’s Loic Bade as a more realistic and strategic option heading into the 2025/26 season under Xabi Alonso.
At 25, Bade has already made a strong impression in La Liga since joining Sevilla. Known for his composure, positional awareness, and ability to play out from the back, the French defender has emerged as a standout performer for the La Liga side.
These attributes have caught the eye of the Real Madrid manager, who is keen to build a solid defensive foundation as he begins his project at the Santiago Bernabeu.
What makes Bade particularly attractive is his price tag. While top-tier defenders like Saliba or Konate would cost upwards of €80 and €50 million respectively, and likely require drawn-out negotiations with unwilling clubs, Bade could be available for around €25 million.
That difference will allow Real Madrid to manage their budget efficiently as they prepare to reinforce multiple areas of the squad.

Another important factor in favour of Bade is his familiarity with the Spanish game. Having already proven himself in La Liga, he would not require a settling-in period and could be integrated into the rotation immediately.
