Pundit reckons Arsenal will try to sell £25m player this summer

Arsenal may have to sell a few players this summer.

Much like many of the teams in the Premier League, Profit and Sustainability rules have the Gunners looking over their shoulders, and there’s a fair bit of deadwood at the Emirates that may need shifting.

One player who the Gunners could potentially sell for a decent fee is Kieran Tierney.

The Scottish defender is currently out on loan at Real Sociedad, but upon his return to north London this summer, he could be sold.

Speaking on Off The Ball, Adrian Clarke has been discussing Tierney’s future at Arsenal, and he’s claimed that the defender will be on the transfer list this summer.

Kieran Tierney to be sold

Clarke shared his verdict on what will happen to the £25m man.

“I like Kieran Tierney, I’ve always liked him, but I don’t think there is a future there now for him because Mikel Arteta likes that inverted full-back, and I don’t think that suits KT,” Clarke said.

“There are a number of players who are all ahead of Kieran Tierney, and I could see him on the transfer list this summer. He’ll be fine wherever he goes, because he’s a top-quality player.”

Kieran Tierney needs a move

Clarke is right, Tierney will likely be sold this summer, and, in all honesty, he needs a move.

Mikel Arteta’s utilisation of left-backs these days means that Tierney doesn’t have a place in this Arsenal squad anymore, and that isn’t to say that he’s a poor player, far from it.

In a team that uses more traditional full-backs, Tierney could still be a star, but, sadly, with the advent of inverting full-backs at top clubs, the Scot probably doesn’t have much of a future at Arsenal.
