Paul Merson shares Arsenal v Leicester City score prediction with worrying Steve Cooper claim

Paul Merson has stated that Leicester City could be in for a difficult afternoon against Arsenal.

Leicester City will face a tricky task as they hope to get their first ever win of the season against Arsenal.

It will most certainly be a tricky tie for Steve Cooper’s side to get anything at the Emirates Stadium, especially with the Foxes manager seemingly being under pressure at this moment.

Leicester City long-serving full-back Ricardo Pereira has surprisingly been handed very little game time up until this point, and has since taken to Instagram where he posted cryptic messages over his lack of minutes.

Pressure is certainly starting to mount for Cooper, and things are only likely to become more difficult for the former Nottingham Forest boss, who is in ‘big trouble’ according to former Arsenal player Paul Merson.

Cooper will have to pull off a miracle if his side are to come away with a point, let alone all three against Arsenal this weekend after their brilliant performance in a draw vs Manchester City

Per Sportskeeda, Merson has previewed the game, where he has said: “I’m backing Arsenal to get a comfortable win here against Leicester.

“Some Leicester fans wanted to come to the top flight and be in the top half of the table, that just makes me laugh. They’re in big trouble and so is Steve Cooper.

“Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Leicester City.”

Leicester City currently sit in 15th place in the league table, and wins from any of the current bottom three could see the Foxes slip into the relegation zone after this weekend if they fail to pick up a point

Is Arsenal clash a write-off for Steve Cooper

It is evidently clear that the gulf in quality of players on paper combined with the differing form of both sides makes it highly likely that Arsenal will come away with all three points against Leicester City, leaving Cooper without a win.

However, there is no doubting that Cooper could use this game as a blank canvas to potentially experiment with his side and look to bring in new faces who maybe haven’t been given an opportunity to shine this season.

For example, Cooper could easily look to utilise Pereira in the upcoming game against Arsenal, and discover whether he is up to speed with the Premier League following his recent exile.

In regards to a potential scoreline, it will be incredible if Cooper can conjure up a performance worthy of bringing any points back to Leicestershire, but it is by no means a write-off as the Foxes boss could easily use this game to his advantage.
