MONEY TALKS AJ Dillon reveals contract talks with Green Bay Packers and details recovery from season-ending neck injury

GREEN Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon missed all of the 2024 season with a neck injury.

Now entering free agency, Dillon hopes to play his comeback NFL season in 2025 with the team he was drafted to.

Dillon spent the first five years of his career with the Packers after being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He spent most of those years as the No. 2 option behind Aaron Jones, but still put up productive numbers.

From 2020-2023, Dillon compiled 3,191 total yards and 18 total touchdowns.

However, Dillon couldn’t add to those numbers in 2024 as he suffered a neck stinger in the preseason. He didn’t get the opportunity to play at all in his contract year.

With free agency fast approaching, Dillon is hoping the next time he suits up it can be back with the Packers.

“Yea, I think my agents were up there last week,” Dillon told The U.S. Sun before the Super Bowl.

“They’re figuring all of that out. I’m just focused on working out and getting back.”

“I’m excited man, I’m gonna hit the ground running next year, wherever it is.”

Dillon has spent the season recovering and working on strengthening himself for a return in 2025.

He says he is good to go for a return to the field next season.

“I’m good man,” Dillon said.

“I’m excited for next year.”

If Dillon returned to the Packers next season, he would partner up alongside Pro Bowler Josh Jacobs.

They clearly have built a strong friendship in just one season together in Green Bay.

Jacobs had a monster 2024 season, compiling 1,671 total yards and 16 total touchdowns.

However, he didn’t have much help behind him.

The Green Bay Packers’ second leading rusher, Emmanuel Wilson had 502 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Chris Brooks, the next name after Wilson, had only 183 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Having a fully health Dillon back on the Packers would be a huge boost to the team.

He averaged nearly 700 yards and five touchdowns per season as a backup.

Plenty of NFL teams could use a back like Dillon, but it seems likely he stays home in Green Bay next season.
