Micah Richards says £23m Arsenal player has ‘improved so much’ recently

Micah Richards has heaped praise on one Arsenal player following his performance against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola produced an incredible tactical battle. Both managers set their sides up to cancel each other out across multiple areas of the pitch, and that worked.

Many felt the game was a boring one, but that’s what happens when two world-class sides whose managers know each other very well go up against each other.

Micah Richards was really impressed with Arsenal yesterday, and he singled out one of their underrated players for some serious praise.

Micah Richards names the Arsenal player who has ‘improved so much’

Arsenal had to be at their best to get anything from the game against Manchester City, and defensively, they were on point.

The Gunners gave the champions no space to attack. Their organisation was outstanding, they were incredibly disciplined throughout the game, and it can even be said that they actually had the better chances to score.

Arsenal didn’t convert their opportunities, but they were almost flawless defensively, and that helped them pick up a well-deserved point in the end.

William Saliba has been receiving a lot of praise since after the game yesterday, but Micah Richards has urged people to give more credit to Gabriel Magalhaes as well.

The Brazil international was just as good as Saliba at the Etihad, if not better. He dealt with Erling Haaland brilliantly, and Richards has been impressed with his development.

Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, he said: “We’ve got to give credit to Gabriel. Saliba got Man of the Match and I think we always talk about Saliba and how well he has done.

“But, Gabriel has improved so much as well and has become a real leader of that back four, he really has.”

Arsenal have two of the most underrated player in the Premier League

Arsenal have a number of players who have stepped up over the last two seasons.

Bukayo Saka is arguably their best player and he gets a lot of credit, as do the likes of Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and William Saliba. Most others are highly rated too across the game.

The two Arsenal players, however, who are so underrated and just don’t get enough credit from rival fans and pundits are Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White.

Both players have been absolutely amazing for Arsenal since the start of last season, and they were brilliant against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday as well.

White and Gabriel deserve more praise, and it’s good to see Micah Richards giving the £23 million (BBC) Brazilian the credit he doesn’t usually get.
