LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department turned a day of mini Grand Prix racing into an opportunity to build connections with the community at their 4th annual “Cruisin’ with Cops” event.
The first 100 children at the event received an hour-long go-kart pass, pizza, and arcade credits at the Las Vegas Mini Grand Prix Family Fun Center.
Metro Police emphasized the importance of such events in creating lasting relationships with the community.
“My favorite part is getting on that race track with the kids,” said Officer Anthony Grecco of the LVMPD. “Sadly, they’re a little bit faster than us, but it’s just fun to get out here and race them.”
The event also featured various sections of the department, showcasing how they collaborate to ensure comm
unity safety. The event was free and open to the public, aiming to make prom season more accessible for students.
