Kyle Walker knows a good player when he sees one and he’s been seriously impressed by a player Arsenal are being heavily linked with this summer.
The pacey Walker has become well renowned in world football for being one of the very best right-backs around.
Indeed, his speed and ability to recover has seen him come out on top in duels with some of the world’s best like Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, among others.
Of course, few wingers relish the chance of coming up against Walker because of that speed.
However, one man who might well be relishing the opportunity tonight is Spain winger, Nico Williams.
Williams is being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal after the tournament ends.
And according to Walker, Williams possesses speed beyond anything he’s seen so far in his career.
Kyle Walker stunned by just how quick Nico Williams is
Speaking to TalkSPORT ahead of the Euros final with Spain tonight, Walker admitted he’s never seen anyone run quite as quick as Williams.
“Good question. I saw him run the other day and I’ve never seen something so quick.
“I’ll have to give him the respect as I do with every player, but hopefully he gives me the respect as well that we’ve both earned playing the game of football.
“It’ll be a good test, obviously the team has not been mentioned, but if I am selected, I’ll give it my all – and especially in a European Championship final.”
Key duel could decide the winner of Euro 2024
Not many teams have wingers quite like Spain do right now.
Both Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams are two of the most exciting players in the world right now and Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier are going to have their work cut out for them.
For Walker, it could be a battle that decides the tournament.
Whether he plays as a right centre-back or right-back in a back four, you feel Walker is going to be mega-important for England to get the job done.
Ultimately, if Walker can keep Williams quiet, then England might just come out on top in Berlin.
