Saliba joins Real Madrid, £149m double deal – transfers Arsenal can complete this week

Arsenal have endured a slow start to the transfer window but a flurry of deals could soon be done to kickstart their summer business. The Gunners are yet to welcome any new faces despite being active on a number of fronts, while several fringe players have already been shipped out.

Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga recently left Arsenal on loan deals, joining Lazio and Sevilla respectively. Emile Smith Rowe could also be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium with interest reportedly coming from Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Arsenal’s only confirmed signing has been David Raya, who was on loan from Brentford last season but has since joined on a permanent basis. Mikel Arteta will be desperate to add further quality to his squad over the coming days with the market about to spring into life.

As a result, there is plenty of business to be done in the near future with some moves likely to be completed by the end of this week. Arsenal will be hoping to capitalise on the market opening up with all eyes on the new Premier League campaign, which starts in less than a month.

Express Sport takes a look at some deals Arsenal could get done over the next few days…

Saliba joins Real Madrid

William Saliba is thought to be attracting interest from Real Madrid, with Mundo Deportivo claiming the Spanish giants are keen on bringing him to the Bernabeu. Meanwhile, it has been reported by GiveMeSport that Arsenal are worried the 23-year-old will not be theirs for much longer.

They will be desperate to keep their star defender, but things could quickly change if Saliba’s head is turned by the apparent interest from the Spanish capital.

Gyokeres signs in £86m deal

Sporting forward Viktor Gyokeres has long been linked with a move to Arsenal and it seems he could finally join the Gunners this summer. He is thought to have a release clause of around £86million and it has been reported by Leonino that Arsenal are willing to match it.

The north Londoners are crying out for a proven goalscorer and Gyokeres would provide just that, having bagged 43 goals in all competitions for Sporting last season.

Isak arrives in Newcastle raid

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in Newcastle marksman Alexander Isak ahead of the new campaign. The Sweden international scored 21 goals in the Premier League last season and could join alongside Gyokeres if Arsenal decide to loosen their purse strings.

Isak is valued at just over £63m by Transfermarkt and a deal at that price would represent a great bit of business, but Newcastle would almost certainly demand a higher fee.

Two more fringe players leave

Arsenal are likely to part ways with more squad players over the coming weeks and Smith Rowe could be next to leave the Emirates Stadium. He is said to be attracting interest from Fulham and Crystal Palace, with Arsenal thought to be demanding a transfer fee of around £25m.

Eddie Nketiah has also been tipped to join Marseille but a fee is yet to be agreed with discussions still ongoing, according to the Daily Mail.
