Kieran Tierney Arsenal asking price revealed as Celtic hero set for transfer exit

Arsenal are prepared to make a sizeable loss on Kieran Tierney as they get ready to offload the Celtic hero permanently, according to a report.

The Gunners paid a record-breaking £25million to prise the boyhood Celt away from his beloved club in 2019. After three years as a regular, although with injuries limiting his appearances slightly, the Scotland star fell out of the picture under Mikel Arteta and spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad, playing 20 times in La Liga.

The Spaniards did have an option to buy included in the deal but didn’t take that up, meaning Tierney remains a Gunner for now. But the 27-year-old is not thought to have a future at the Emirates and will likely move on this summer, with plenty of clubs expected to be interested.

And The Sunday Post is reporting Arsenal will listen to offers of around £10million. That’s under half of what they paid Celtic five years ago so represents a significant loss.

The Hoops will be targeting a new left-back in this window to compete with Greg Taylor and there have long been murmurings of a glorious return for Tierney. But the transfer fee and wages would be above what they could likely afford, meaning a loan move would be the only realistic avenue. The likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa in the Premier League have previously been linked.

Tierney is currently with the Scotland squad which jets out to Germany today for the Euros and is expected to line up in his usual left centre-back slot against the host nation on Friday.
