Arsenal have placed great emphasis on quality over quantity this summer transfer window.
Riccardo Calafiori is the only Gunners recruit so far but they’re on the verge of signing Real Sociedad and Spain midfielder Mikel Merino.
Once that deal is complete, Arsenal could move to sign a goalkeeper as they prepare to lose Aaron Ramsdale.
Ramsdale is in talks to join Wolves and Mikel Arteta is keen to replace him with another top-class understudy to David Raya.
With that said, one of their rumoured targets has just broken his silence
Joan Garcia suggests he’s not thinking about Arsenal
Arsenal have been linked to Joan Garcia for most of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have identified him as the perfect number two after an impressive season at Sociedad last term.
Standard Sport believe they’re now considering an approach for the 23-year-old, who has a £21m release clause in his contract which is due to increase to £25m this month.
Amid strong links to Arsenal, Garcia broke his silence and revealed that he’s not thinking about his future.
“I am very calm,” the Spaniard said.
“I am a person who isolates himself from all this and I am focused on next Saturday’s game [against Real Sociedad].
“In football, these things do not depend on oneself, but I am very happy here.”
Arsenal may opt for Daniel Bentley
Arsenal may opt against signing Garcia due to the financial means it’d require and could instead move for Wolves Daniel Bentley.
The Gunners submitted a bid for Bentley earlier in the window and now he’s being discussed in a potential swap deal with Ramsdale.
So at this stage, a deal to sign the Wolves man seems more likely.
