“It’s Cute To See How Excited She Gets”: Caitlin Clark Describes Watching Chiefs Games With Taylor Swift

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been active on and off the hardwood in her first WNBA offseason. In one of her excursions outside the basketball court, she had an encounter with a world-renowned celebrity.

In an interview with Iowa Hawkeyes insider for 247Sports David Eickholt that premiered on Monday on YouTube, Clark talked about her recent encounter with pop icon Taylot Swift. Both were in attendance at the Kansas City Chiefs’ divisional-round playoff game against the Houston Texans, and were seen talking for an extended period.

The 2024 Rookie of the Year said she was impressed with how big of a Chiefs fan “Tay Tay” has become since entering a relationship with their star tight end Travis Kelce.

“It’s just cute to see how excited she gets for the Chiefs,” Clark said. “Getting to share that, I’m like, “Oh my God I love this. She loves the Chiefs as much as me, this is incredible.’”

A well-known “Swiftie,” Caitlin Clark attended both of Swift’s concerts in Indianapolis last year. The two stars reached an accord when the multi-awarded artist praised the basketball superstar for her accomplishments inside and outside the league.

Swift had also invited Clark to watch a Chiefs game, and they had bonded since.

Analyst reacts to Caitlin Clark watching Chiefs game with Taylor Swift

Caitlin Clark made rounds in the news after being seen with multi-awarded singer-songwriter Taylor Swift watching the divisional round game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans. However, one analyst does not seem to want to hear any more news about Travis Kelce, his popstar girlfriend, and Clark.

ESPN’s Chris Russo ranted on his radio show “Mad Dog Unleashed,” saying that he is far from pleased at how often the cameras pan away from the match to focus their lenses on the record-selling performer.

“I’ve had enough with Kelce, I’ve had enough of the girlfriend,” Russo said. “And now I got Caitlin Clark in the mix.”

Many have called Clark out for attending the Chiefs’ games, assuming that she is just there for clout. The 2024 TIME Athlete of the Year had quickly shut down that narrative, saying she has long supported the Chiefs because her father has also been a long-time Chiefs fan.

“My dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up,” Clark said. “People think I’m like a bandwagon Chiefs fan. I’m like, no, I was there before Patrick and Travis. We were ride or die.”

In two weeks’ time, Clark, Swift, and the rest of the world will see if another championship is on the horizon for the Chiefs.
