Ex-Arsenal star Jack Wilshere admitted his surprise that Arsene Wenger allowed Robin van Persie to depart for Manchester United.
The Dutchman spent eight years in North London and was coming off the best season of his career in the 2011/12 Premier League campaign where his 30 league goals earned him the first Golden Boot of his career.
He was subsequently awarded with both the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and PFA Fans’ Player of the Year awards for his remarkable performances.
