Arsenal have a host of players currently out on international duty representing their countries.
The likes of William Saliba, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli have all linked up with their respective nations.
On Friday, Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya and Gunners midfielder Mikel Merino were both in action for Spain in their Nations League meeting with Denmark.
The Arsenal stopper won his ninth cap, and fifth in a row, as the Euro 2024 champions ran out 2-1 winners in Copenhagen.
Spanish media impressed by Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya
Marca gave Raya a rating of 7.5 out of 10 overall for his efforts on the night.
Speaking about the Arsenal man’s first half, they wrote: ‘He put his hand in to clear the first corner of the match. Without many complications in the first half.’
Regarding the second half, they wrote: ‘With authority in the aerial ball. After a huge mistake by Fabian… another big mistake by Raya.
‘Fabián passed it to Raya without seeing that he was on Isaksen, Raya tried to dribble past the striker and without time to react the goal came (Fabián made a bigger mistake).
‘Great save in the final stretch of the match to prevent Denmark from equalising the score.’
Meanwhile, El Desmarque gave the £27million man a score of 6 out of 10.
They wrote: ‘He showed his confidence in being able to get the ball out of the box, but Fabian made him difficult and Isaksen ended up cutting off a pass to score 1-2.
‘He saved the victory in stoppage time against a shot from Skov Olsen.’
AS also noted how Raya got Spain over the line as they said he ‘prevented the draw’.
‘The Spanish goalkeeper made a tremendous effort to deflect Skov Olsen’s dangerous shot with a left-footed shot onto the far post,’ they wrote.
Raya stats for Spain v Denmark
As per Sofascore, Raya made two saves, two high claims, and one save from inside the box, though he did technically make an error that led to a goal.
The Arsenal man also took 57 touches of the ball and completed 32 of his 43 passes for a 74 percent accuracy score.
Six of his 16 long balls found the target, and he also made one clearance and won one aerial duel.
Spain have now secured top spot in Group A4 thanks to their win over Denmark.
The European champions were already through to the quarter-finals but needed to win at Parken Stadium to progress as winners.
Spain are next in action against Switzerland on Monday night.
