Green Bay special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia received a contract extension from the team Monday.
That development apparently did not especially please Packers fans.
Bisaccia had one year left on his contract, but numerous special teams mistakes late in the season, including a Chicago Bears punt return for a touchdown during a Week 18 loss have made Matt LeFleur’s latest decision to keep Bisaccia an unpopular one with at least some of Packers nation.
In the Packers’ playoff wild-card defeat in Philadelphia, returner Keisean Nixon fumbled the opening kickoff.
Green Bay’s kicking game was also a nightmare early in the season until Brandon McManus was signed. McManus made 20 of 22 field goals, but missed a kick in the playoff loss to the Eagles.
Bisaccia was also named game management adviser in addition to retaining his title as assistant head coach.
Here’s some displeasure to Bisaccia getting another year added to his deal:
At least a few people pointed out that Bisaccia is an easy scapegoat for a poor close to the Packers’ season.
And at least on Raiders fan wants him back.
