Gabriel on Fire as Brazil Ease Past Chile

Arsenal defender, Gabriel Magalhaes, put up a Man of the Match performance in Brazil’s narrow away victory over Chile.

Brazil has endured a lukewarm campaign in the South American World Cup qualifiers, with the Selecao currently fourth in the standings, which has been disappointing for everyone concerned.

Gabriel has become an ever-present for Brazil, playing alongside Marquinhos on a consistent basis, proving his worth for his nation. The home side opened the scoring with Eduardo Vargas, but Brazil equalized with a goal from Igor da Cruz. Just when we thought that we were going to see the game end up in a draw, Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes setup Luis Henrique for what proved to be the match winner.

Arsenal winger, Gabriel Martinelli, got a handful of minutes towards the end, as Brazil chased the game.

What’s next for Gabriel?

Gabriel is expected to start for Brazil in the clash against Peru on Wednesday next week. Having an international fixture this late will see him and Martinelli arrive at London Colney on Thursday, which will affect their conditioning ahead of the trip to Bournemouth.
