Gabriel Jesus predicts Josh Nichols will have a breakthrough season at Arsenal
Jesus had a full pre-season with Arsenal this summer because he wasn’t called up to the Brazil squad for the Copa America.
While many of Arsenal’s stars were involved with their national teams, the Brazilian worked extremely hard to get back to full fitness.
While training, Jesus rubbed shoulders with a number of academy players. Pictures and videos of him spending time and offering advice to the youngsters surfaced at the time.
Now, in a video on Arsenal’s social channels, Jesus and many of his teammates have predicted which young player will have a breakthrough season at Arsenal in the 2024/25 campaign.
Every single senior player felt it would either be Nwaneri or Lewis-Skelly, but Jesus snubbed the popular Arsenal duo and named Josh Nichols instead.

Who is Arsenal’s Josh Nichols?
Nichols is an 18-year-old right-back for Arsenal’s academy sides.
The teenager played 31 games for the U18s and U21s in the 2023/24 season. Nichols was named as one of the best youngsters in London, and his performances seem to have caught Arteta’s eye.
The defender was called up by the Arsenal boss for the Gunners’ pre-season tour of the United States. He came on as a substitute in a few games and looked good.
Jesus certainly likes what he has seen from Nichols, and his prediction shows that he truly believes in the 18-year-old.
It remains to be seen if Nichols will get an opportunity in the first team at some stage this season.
