Former NFL Running Back Found Dead Inside Home At 54

A former NFL running back passed away at the age of 54 last month. He was reportedly found dead inside of his home.

The Green Bay Packers announced that former Super Bowl-winning running back Calvin Jones, who had starred collegiately at Nebraska, had died. Jones played briefly in the National Football League after an All-American career with the Huskers at the college football level.

“Calvin Jones, who appeared in one regular-season game and two postseason games for the Green Bay Packers when they won Super Bowl XXXI, died last week. Jones was 54,” the Packers announced.

“A running back and third-round draft choice of the then Los Angeles Raiders in 1994, Jones was claimed on waivers by the Packers after the second game of the 1996 season and played on special teams against Detroit on Dec. 15 after being inactive for the previous 12. Jones also appeared in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl.”
