Federica Brignone, a renowned Italian skier, has suffered a severe injury during the Italian National Championships’ women’s giant slalom event at Alpe Lusia in Trentino. Brignone fell during the second run, and subsequent medical examinations revealed a displaced, comminuted fracture of the tibial plateau and fibular head in her left leg.

 

The Italian Ski Federation (FISI) Medical Commission is closely monitoring Brignone’s condition and has arranged for her transfer to the “La Madonnina” clinic in Milan for further evaluation and treatment. Additional radiological examinations will be conducted to determine the extent of the injury, and a surgical plan will be developed.
