After guiding us to an unbeaten start, Mikel Arteta has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for August.
Mikel, who last won the Manager of the Month prize in February, was nominated for that particular accolade on seven occasions last term, and now followed that up with his first this campaign.
The boss oversaw our first wins at home and away as Wolves and Aston Villa were beaten by 2-0 scorelines, before we battled hard to earn a point against high-flying Brighton & Hove Albion despite being reduced to 10 men.
That leaves us fourth in the table, and it’s no surprise that the bosses of the three teams above us have all also been included on the four-man shortlist.
Pep Guardiola’s three wins from three sees him get the nod as Manchester City lead the way early doors, while Arne Slot has begun his time at Liverpool with a 100% record too, albeit only two of his matches were in August.
Another newcomer in Fabian Herzeler has also been selected after Brighton’s point in N5 saw them maintain their unbeaten record so far, despite facing us and Manchester United already.
You can vote for Mikel now until midday on Monday, September 9.
