Arsenal want £30m to sell ‘incredible’ player who has agreed move away

Arsenal are up and running in the summer market, with one senior signing finally over the line.

In late July, the Gunners signed Italy international defender Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna for a deal said to be worth £42million.

Arsenal also appear to be making good progress in pursuit of Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino.

It was recently reported that the Gunners are “set to complete” a deal with the Liga outfit worth around £34million plus bonuses.

Arsenal have been active in terms of outgoings too. Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have left on initial loan deals, with Lazio having an obligation to buy the latter.

Emile Smith Rowe is also said to be closing in on a move to Fulham, and there’s a good chance he won’t be the last first-teamer to leave Arsenal this summer.

Now, according to Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel, the Gunners have decided on a price tag to sell one of their “unbelievable” players.

The player in question is Eddie Nketiah, who has reportedly agreed personal terms with Marseille.

The deal now hinges on the Ligue 1 club agreeing a fee with Arsenal and, according to Mokbel, the Gunners want £30million for their player.

Marseille’s offer is currently too low, added the reporter, who also shared several other transfer updates involving Premier League clubs.

Arsenal slash asking price for Nketiah

Although Nketiah has been a good squad option for Arsenal over the past few years, he’s at an age now where he really ought to be starting regularly.

Since it doesn’t look as though the Gunners will be able to give him this opportunity, it’s best for him if he were to leave.

Arsenal’s price tag is more than reasonable for a Premier League-level striker who’s only 25 years old and is yet to reach his prime.

Indeed, was previously reported that the Gunners wanted £50million for Nketiah, so it looks like they’ve slashed £20million off the asking price.

Mikel Arteta previously deemed Nketiah “incredible” and it’ll be a shame for a player who is Arsenal through and through to have to leave, but it’s the best thing for his career.
