Arsenal think ‘outstanding’ player’s loan move could lead to big transfer in 2025

Arsenal are reportedly confident that a recent player’s loan exit from north London could lead to a big transfer of sorts in 2025.

The Gunners have finally exploded into life in the summer transfer window, with Arsenal this week confirming two loan exits in the form of Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga, with both players having agreements to join their new clubs permanently in 2025.

With Arsenal also looking to offload the likes of Kieran Tierney, Aaron Ramsdale and Emile Smith Rowe this summer, there’s a real chance that Mikel Arteta could recoup a club-record in player sales, given how many departures there could be.

And looking way ahead to 2025, Arsenal seemingly already have something in the works.

Arsenal predicting big interest in Albert Sambi Lokonga in 2025

According to the Telegraph, Arsenal believe there will be significant interest in Lokonga in 2025, with the midfielder just joining Sevilla on loan for the season, with the La Liga side having a £10m option to make the transfer permanent next year.

With Arsenal including a 25% sell-on clause for Lokonga if Sevilla were to flip the Belgian international in 2025 for profit, the Gunners are expecting big things from the former R.S.C. Anderlecht star in the upcoming season.

Lokonga was hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Gary Neville last season after a string of impressive performances for Luton Town, with the 24-year-old one of the Hatters’ best players last year despite their relegation to the Championship.

And whilst Arsenal could have worked out a better financial deal to get Lokonga off their books for good this summer, the transfer arranged with Sevilla could end up working out for the Gunners if the midfielder impresses next season.

Lokonga could land Arsenal a big payday in 2025

Lokonga departing for just £10m is something that hasn’t sit right with some Arsenal fans in recent days, yet with all the details about the loan move to Sevilla now out in the open, it’s clear that the Gunners have a plan in mind.

A 25% sell-on clause could net Arsenal a good fee if Lokonga impresses in Spain and is sold on for big profit by Sevilla, an outcome that is likely given how good the midfielder is when playing in the right season.

Alternatively, Lokonga could return to Arsenal next season with Sevilla being unable to afford the £10m transfer fee, giving the Gunners free reign to name their price for the midfielder in 2025, who will leave north London for good that summer.
