Arsenal have reportedly switched their attention from Victor Osimhen to Viktor Gyokeres.
The Gunners are looking to add a top-class centre-forward this summer as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title again in 2024-25.
They have been linked with a move for Osimhen but Napoli want a staggering €130 million for the prolific striker.
Now Tuttomercatoweb suggests Arsenal have now switched their attention to Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres.
The 26-year-old has been earning rave reviews in Portugal since joining the Lions last summer from Coventry City.
He scored an incredible 29 goals and created nine assists in 33 league appearances last season as Sporting clinched the Primeira Liga title.
Mikel Arteta’s side are unlikely to match the forward’s enormous release clause and will look to negotiate a lower fee than that.
The Sweden international is highly rated for his strength, pace and aerial dominance. His finishing is excellent and he also has the ability to link-up the play.
The 26-year-old could be a shrewd signing for the Gunners but it remains to be seen whether they can sign him in this transfer window.
The North Londoners were excellent in 2023-24 but ultimately missed out on the Premier League title by just two points.
They could finally end their title drought next term by adding a top striker like Gyokeres.
