Arsenal’s Omari Benjamin has confirmed that he’ll leave the club this summer in an Instagram post.
Arsenal youth forward Omari Benjamin has confirmed that he’s on the way out this summer, posting a message to the club on Instagram.
“Thank you to all the coaches, staff and players for helping me during my five years at Arsenal,” Benjamin wrote.
“It’s been a joy to play for this club and I will take all my learning and all the great memories made with me. Wish you all the best.”
Benjamin’s message isn’t a shock, with reports breaking months ago that he wouldn’t be offered a professional contract at Arsenal.
Since then, the forward has spent time on a trial with Everton in March, scoring against the Tottenham Hotspur u21s.
Yet that remains Benjamin’s only appearance for the Everton u21s, so it’s not clear whether they’re planning to take him on permanently.
In fact, he was back playing for the Arsenal u18s in the latter stages of the 2023/24 campaign, suggesting that the Everton move is no longer on the cards.
Over the course of the season, Benjamin made 17 appearances for the Arsenal u18s, u19s, and u21s, scoring four goals and assisting two.
The Wales u19 international will now be on the lookout for a new club.
