Arsenal Receive Tempting Offer From Premier League Side For ‘Fan Favourite

As we move towards the end of the transfer window, the interest in Aaron Ramsdale appears to have gathered pace with Arsenal being approached by Wolves for the shot-stopper.

Wolves Submit Bid for Aaron Ramsdale

Loan Offer Proposed

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Arsenal have received an offer from Wolves for their goalkeeper Ramsdale. The proposal involves a season-long loan with a buy-option. They have also expressed their willingness to cover the majority of the player’s salary.

However, Arsenal prefer a permanent sale over a loan. Wolves are aware of the North London club’s stance and thus have a pessimistic feeling about the transfer. They believe it would be tough to complete a deal to complete.

Dutch giants Ajax’s loan proposal for Ramsdale was rejected by Arsenal last week. Hence, there is a huge probability that Wolves’ bid will suffer the same fate.

Interestingly, Wolves turned down Arsenal’s bid for their backup keeper Dan Bentley last month. It is unsure if the 31-year-old’s future will be part of the negotiations.

Apart from Wolves, recently-promoted Southampton have also been monitoring Ramsdale. The Saints are eager to strengthen their squad as they hope to cement their place in the English top tier.

Will Wolves Be the Right Choice for Ramsdale?

Ramsdale has a tough job at Arsenal in dislodging David Raya from the starting lineup. Mikel Arteta prefers the Spaniard for his expertise in playing out from the back.

At Wolves, he has a brighter chance of starting regularly as he could compete better with Jose Sa. There, the 26-year-old would likely get the opportunity to fulfill his potential.

At a top-6 club like Arsenal, every mistake Ramsdale makes will attract more scrutiny and pressure, thus affecting his overall performance. He doesn’t have to worry about that at Wolves. Moreover, playing under a talented young coach like O’Neil will help to improve his game further.

Thus, a move to Wolves might be what the goalkeeper needs right now in his career. Meanwhile, the Arsenal faithful will be saddened at the prospect of a “fan favourite leaving the club.
