It wasnt pretty, although opening goal was a beauty it was the only goal. At the end of the day it was the 3 points that mattered and they were never reall underthreat. Ratings follow:
Raya 7 so calm and assured throughout. In fairness he is very good near the end of games with all those catches from crosses and balls into the box.
White 5 struggled against nacho but at the same time still gives his all and stands up to be counted. Also combines well with others.
Saliba 8 very commanding and some brilliant duels won and tackles made.
Gabriel 8 looks so good these days.
Tomiyasu 6 thought he was better than normal. Looks rash though and has a mistake in him which always worries me. Surprised Amad didn’t go at him more as he had the beating of him like nacho did white.
Partey 6 he looked a bit off the pace today but was still brave on the ball when we needed him to be. Still getting up to speed or a sign that his legs are going?
Rice 6 wasn’t great either. One decent shot though but wasn’t in the game at all.
Odegaard 5 very poor. Wasn’t an outlet for us at all and got knocked off the ball numerous times which started counters for them. Big worry in these matches. Hopefully he can improve.
Saka 4 I thought he was terrible. Kept looking at the ref as Dalot defended him so well. He was moaning and complaining and making bad passes and giving it away when we really needed to keep it. Limped off again which is a theme.
Havertz 7 battled hard and led the line well. Lovely assist. His lay off to Odegaard in the box was gorgeous too.
Trossard 7 goal. He is a strong finisher and gets into good positions. Such an asset in the squad.
Martineli 6 the usual flashes. Could have scored in fairness but a good save from Onana.
Can’t even recall anyone else coming on/doing anything.
So happy to beat them but awful display.
