Arsenal are reportedly willing to sanction a loan deal for Eddie Nketiah this summer, provided Ligue 1 giants Marseille include a mandatory purchase clause.
According to a report by The Athletic, Eddie Nketiah remains the subject of interest from Marseille. The Ligue 1 giants are keen on signing a striker before the summer transfer window shuts down. And they might have the opportunity to sign the Arsenal homegrown player on loan if they include a mandatory purchase clause worth €30 million.
Eddie Nketiah and his Arsenal woes
Eddie Nketiah has grown in frustration at Arsenal in the last 12 months, although he has never been the undisputed first-choice striker for the North London club since breaking into the first-team squad at the Emirates. The Englishman spent most of his formative years in London and remained in the fabled academy at Chelsea for several years.
The 25-year-old has been in the first-team squad throughout Mikel Arteta’s stint as the Arsenal manager. However, Nketiah has been unable to stamp his authority and become the primary striker for the North London club. Meanwhile, the player has turned out over 150 times thus far for Arsenal while chipping in with 38 goals and seven assists.
However, the England international wants to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window after becoming a peripheral figure in the second half of the 2023/24 season. So, Nketiah is ready to end his long association with Arsenal, with Marseille eager to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Marseille’s interest in Eddie Nketiah is understandable. While the Ligue 1 giants have signed Mason Greenwood from Manchester United this summer, they have re-entered the market for a striker after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Saudi Pro League upstart Al-Qadsiah.
So, Nketiah is a viable target, with personal terms not an issue for the 25-year-old homegrown Arsenal player. However, Arsenal’s asking price has complicated matters in recent weeks, although the Gunners are now ready to sanction an initial loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause worth €30 million.
