Gigio Donnarumma, the designated captain for Euro 2024, starts on the bench making room for Guglielmo Vicario in goal, so Jorginho has been given the captain’s armband tonight.

Jorginho, 32, has five goals in 52 appearances with Italy national team and made his Azzurri debut in March 2016.

The experienced midfielder has recently extended his contract with Arsenal until June 2025.

Spalletti didn’t call him up for the first four games of his tenure due to his lack of playing time in North London, but a consistent second part of the campaign has helped Jorginho earn a spot in the Azzurri squad for Euro 2024.

Jorginho scored one goal and provided two assists in 36 appearances across all competitions with Arsenal this season.
