Arsenal make approach to sign former Barcelona star wanted by Inter Miami

Premier League giants Arsenal have reportedly issued an inquiry to sign a former FC Barcelona player believed to be on Inter Miami’s radar.

The north London side are regarded as one of the best teams in world soccer having come close to winning the Premier League title in the last two years, with Mikel Arteta transforming Arsenal back into one of the biggest clubs in the sport.

This summer is due to be a big one for Arsenal, who are currently out in the United States on their pre-season tour, playing the likes of AFC Bournemouth, Manchester United and Liverpool ahead of the new campaign.

And it appears that Arsenal are interested in signing a rumored Inter Miami target.

According to Sport, Arsenal made an approach for Sergi Roberto, who left Barcelona this summer at the end of his contract despite being the club captain and a player the Catalan side wanted to keep hold of.

Inter Miami have been rumored with a move for Roberto, with the Herons keen to add to their growing contingent of Barcelona-grown players alongside Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Yet their pursuit to sign Roberto could now be in trouble with a club as big as Arsenal interested in the Spanish international, with Arteta’s side one of the most appealing teams in the world to join this summer.
