Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard celebrated his goal against former club Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday by trolling his old fans with an iconic movie quote.
Trossard forced his way out of Brighton in January 2023 after his relationship with manager Roberto De Zerbi collapsed with only a matter of months remaining on his Seagulls contract. The Belgian subsequently squeezed through a £27million switch to Arsenal before the transfer deadline.
The 29-year-old returned to the AMEX for the first time since his unceremonious departure, being introduced as a second-half substitute with Arsenal 2-0 up to as chorus of boos from unforgiving Albion fans, who were already pretty fed up thanks to their team’s performance.
In inevitable fashion, Trossard sealed the Gunners’ 3-0 win in the closing stages, producing a sublime dink over Bart Verbruggen after being played through by Kai Havertz from in his own half. The Belgium international then celebrated with his arms outstretched in front of the Arsenal fans.
Following the game, Trossard took to social media to hilariously troll his old club, posting a picture of his celebration and captioning the post: “Are you not entertained?”
