Arsenal close to signing Semih Kilicsoy this summer

The Gunners are reportedly planning to reinforce their frontline by signing a new prolific goal-scorer in this transfer window. They have been linked with numerous names over the last few weeks with Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak being among them. However, Kilicsoy is seemingly on their radar as well.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a promising campaign last season, scoring 11 goals and registering four assists in 23 league appearances. Now, according to the report by Aksam, Arsenal have been monitoring his development in recent times and after watching his qualities closely, they have come to the conclusion that the youngster is one of the ‘most promising’ talents in Europe.

The report further claims that it has already been decided that the player will move to the Premier League and his destination is going to be Arsenal. Aksam states that Arsenal may break the Turkish transfer record, which currently is £26m, to sign Kilicsoy as Besiktas want more than that figure to sell their star man.

Kilicsoy to Arsenal

The 18-year-old is an extremely talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class forward in future. But, he isn’t ready enough to perform at the highest level yet and one of the indications of that is despite being selected to play for Turkey in the European Championship, he hasn’t played a single minute yet.

So although he would be a shrewd signing for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they purchase him, the Gunners will have to sign a new experienced striker as well to achieve their lofty ambitions next season.

So, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to secure his signature in this transfer window to reinforce their attacking department.

Meanwhile, after failing to win the league title in back-to-back seasons, Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he now wants to win big prizes as soon as possible. So, it remains to be seen whether the Emirates club can eventually manage to win the Premier League title next week.
