According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Georgiy Sudakov is Napoli‘s primary midfield target, but Arsenal are also interested and Shakhtar Donetsk are aiming for another big sale, like the one that brought Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea last year.
Ukraine international Sudakov is Napoli’s main target in central midfield for next season, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
A few months ago, the Partenopei had a €40m bid rejected, and Shakhtar director Sergej Palkin recently clarified that not even €50m would be enough to sign Sudakov in the summer.
Nevertheless, the Partenopei have identified the 21-year-old as the ideal replacement for Piotr Zielinski who will join Inter on a free transfer in June.
Arsenal challenge Napoli for Sudakov
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal will be among the biggest Napoli rivals in the race for Sudakov in the summer. The Ukraine international has recently signed a contract extension with Shakhtar but was promised to leave the club at the end of the season or in 2025.
Il Corriere dello Sport says Shakhtar hope more clubs will join the race for Sudakov at the end of the season, increasing the midfielder’s price and helping them finalise a big sale like the one that brought Mudryk to Chelsea for €100m, including add-ons in January 2023.
