Arsenal and Chelsea scouts were reportedly present to watch Leny Yoro during Lille’s midweek defeat against Aston Villa. The defender has caught the eye for the Ligue 1 outfit this season, with Manchester United also said to be monitoring Yoro closely.
According to HITC, representatives of Arsenal and Chelsea made the visit to Villa Park for Villa’s 2-1 win over Lille in the Europa Conference League. They were there to watch starlet Yoro, who played the full 90 minutes of the quarter-final clash.
It’s claimed that Premier League sides were quick to jump at the chance to watch Yoro in person after Unai Emery’s side drew Lille in the Conference League. Dubbed as one of the most promising defenders in Europe, the 18-year-old is expected to be of interest to top clubs across the continent this summer.
The report states Yoro has less than 18 months left on his existing deal with Lille, but the French outfit are pushing to tie him down to a longer contract. However, so far they’ve not had much luck, with talk about an exit at the end of the season beginning to grow
Arsenal and Chelsea aren’t the only teams keeping tabs on him though, as United were also mooted as a potential suitor. It was reported by HITC earlier this year that Yoro was on the 20-time English champions’ radar, who are said to be keen on the versatile defender.
