Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed something of an unexpected boost with the January transfer window due to open soon.
The winter window is not usually a busy one, with prices inflated and clubs reluctant to make changes to their squads at a critical time of the season. But there are always plenty of rumours.
Arsenal are unlikely to spend big money in January, although if a good opportunity comes up, they will move on it. Chelsea, meanwhile, have spent big in previous windows and it will be interesting to see if they continue to spend this winter
The two clubs will be battling with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa for the top four places come the end of the campaign.
And grabbing the best players in the transfer window could be the difference between qualifying for the Champions League and not.
A lot of the biggest players in world football will be chased by the same teams in the Premier League and it will come down to finances and negotiating tactics as to who will win the race for signatures.
Arsenal and Chelsea are often linked with the same names as the others at the top of the table and they have been handed something of an unexpected boost thanks to reports in France.
Manchester United have emerged as a name in the frame to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain this January. Kolo Muani has been asked about his future and seems keen to fight for his place in the French capital.
Speaking to Telefoot, he said: “Leave? No, I’ve never tried to think about that. I want to continue working, to show what I can do and give my all.”
United have made contact with PSG to sign the striker, but a report in Le10Sport states United do not have the money to sign him on a permanent deal, but instead on loan.
If United are not looking to spend money in the January transfer window, it could open the door for the likes to Arsenal and Chelsea to steal a march on the Red Devils and maintain their positions above Ruben Amorim’s team in the Premier League table.
