The agent of Crystal Palace star Micahel Olise has been slapped with a six-month ban by the FA following an investigation into a former deal. The 22-year-old is reported to be the subject of transfer interest worth £60 million from several Premier League sides, including Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
Glen Tweneboah has received the sanction over a contract agreed with Olise’s former club Reading in 2019. The agent, who is a registered intermediary still acting on behalf of Olise, was charged with misconduct after that deal was found to have breached the FA’s agent rules.
Olise has been a star man for the Eagles this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting five in just the 18 Premier League outings between injuries. The player has four goals and two assists in his last five outings.
The winger has been named as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United this summer, with Arsenal also named as a potential suitor. Last month, the BBC reported that Crystal Palace would listen to offers over £60 million for Olise.
Speaking about the futures of Olise and teammate Eberechi Eze last week, Glasner said: “I hope all the players will be here. I know the club will do everything to ensure they will play for Crystal Palace next season.
“I think what we can show from the sports department is that we are ambitious and they can benefit and make a big contribution to being successful. That is what we can offer them, the rest we will see.”
