Another NFL draft analyst likes idea of Shedeur Sanders to the New York Jets

It’s a big week for the idea of the New York Jets selecting Shedeur Sanders at the 2025 NFL draft.

In his pre-combine mock, ESPN’s NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. had Sanders falling to the Jets at No. 7 overall in Round 1. That’s the team’s top selection.

While some have speculated New York would have to trade up to get Sanders, Kiper laid out the idea of that not being required… and another ESPN draft analyst at least likes the fit of Sanders to Gang Green as well.

ESPN’s Matt Miller spoke to the Jets’ website for an interview and agreed with Kiper. Both analysts said Sanders’ upbringing as the son of football legend Deion Sanders makes them believe he could handle the Big Apple.

“I think he would be a really good fit in New York,” Miller said.

Sanders had impressive numbers in 2024, completing 74 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards in 13 games played. Sanders had 37 touchdown passes with 10 interceptions.

Pro Football Focus notes that Sanders does has a knack for avoiding mistakes despite double-digit picks, however, he is said to bail on playing from a clean pocket too quickly.
