Player has ‘no intention of staying at Arsenal under Arteta’ – Set for summer exit and two clubs keen

The Italian media says there’s a little battle heating up to sign Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino.

According to CalcioMercato.it, either Juventus or AS Roma could end up signing the 20-year-old in the summer. Patino is currently having a loan spell at Swansea City, and the story claims the player has ‘no intention of staying at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta’.

It’s unclear whether they mean he feels he won’t get chances under the manager or they just threw Arteta’s name in there.

The possibility of a move to Serie A reportedly ‘fascinates’ him. And while Juventus and Roma battle for him, there’s actually a quite interesting detail that could be decisive.

The outlet explains that the Old Lady and the Giallorossi are also fighting for Michele Fratini, an Italian scout who’s wanted by both clubs.

Since he’s the one who ‘discovered’ Patino, it’s said that they should meet each other again where the scout ends up.

Patino’s Arsenal contract expires at the end of the season, so the Italian clubs are looking for a free transfer.
