The New England Patriots have two priorities entering the offseason, and improving their offensive line is certainly at the top of that list.
If the Patriots don’t have a better unit to protect Drake Maye, they shouldn’t expect much to change in 2025.
Even if the Patriots add an elite wide receiver or two, not having a decent offensive line typically isn’t the recipe for success in the NFL.
There are a few available for the Patriots to pursue on the free agent market this offseason, including Ronnie Stanley.
Stanley, who’s dealt with some injuries throughout his career, is one of the better tackles in the NFL.
New England has more than enough money to give him, making him a valuable piece to pursue.
In a recent prediction from PFN, they predicted Stanley would land a $17.5 to $20 million per year deal.
“However, his talent deserves far more than being paid as the 34th-best tackle in the league. The injury history is a concern, and that will limit either the length of the deal or the structure in terms of guarantees, but we have seen tackles play at a high level into their mid-30s,” PFN wrote.
If the Patriots added Stanley, a wide receiver or two, another offensive lineman, and Maye continues to impress, things should start to look up in Foxborough.
