Jerry Jones’ legal battle takes another turn with surprise court decision

Jerry Jones trial got an important update on Tuesday

The legal troubles surrounding Jerry Jones continue to linger, as the Dallas Cowboys owner finds himself facing yet another delay in a high-profile court case. Just when it seemed a long-awaited resolution was on the horizon, the process has once again been pushed back, raising questions about what’s really happening behind the scenes.

This latest development comes after years of legal back-and-forth, with Jones attempting to avoid a public courtroom battle over serious allegations made against him. The case, which was initially dismissed before being revived, has been a source of ongoing controversy. Now, instead of a resolution in the near future, Jones and his legal team have secured an even longer delay, keeping the matter out of court for more than a year.

A judge in Dallas County has ruled in favor of pushing back the trial date to August 11, 2025. The decision follows a hearing last week where Jones’ attorneys successfully argued for more time, citing a recently filed affidavit in which Jones claimed he does not recall meeting the woman who brought the lawsuit. This marks the second time the case has been postponed, with a previous trial date of March 18, 2024, also being delayed.

The lawsuit, filed in 2020 by a woman from South Carolina, accuses Jones of inappropriate and unwanted advances at AT&T Stadium back in 2018. The woman alleges that Jones forcibly kissed her, stuck his tongue in her mouth, and groped her, with several high-profile individuals-including former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett and multiple Cowboys players-present as witnesses. She is seeking over one million dollars in damages, citing severe emotional distress and psychological suffering.

Jones has avoided trials in the past

While the woman’s legal team has expressed frustration over the repeated delays, Jones has a history of avoiding courtroom battles. Just last year, he reached a settlement in a separate paternity lawsuit, effectively shutting down that case before it could reach trial.

With the latest delay, questions remain about whether this lawsuit will ever see a courtroom-or if Jones will once again find a way to keep it out of the public eye.
