BOZEMAN — Former Montana State wide receiver and assistant coach Junior Adams is expected to become the receivers coach for the Dallas Cowboys, as ESPN reported Sunday and other outlets confirmed.
Adams will head to the NFL after spending the previous three seasons as the co-offensive coordinator/WRs coach at Oregon. The Cowboys recently promoted OC Brian Schottenheimer to head coach.
The Ducks were the seventh college football program Adams worked for. He spent 2019-21 as the WRs coach at Oregon’s then-Pac-12 (now Big Ten) rival Washington, where he helped develop future NFL wideouts Rome Odunze, Ja’Lynn Polk and Jalen McMillan. Prior to UW, Adams served as the OC/WRs coach at Western Kentucky (where future NFL receiver Taywan Taylor played) from 2017-18, was the WRs coach at Boise State (where future NFL WR Cedric Wilson played) from 2014-16, was the WRs coach at Eastern Washington (where future NFL All-Pro WR Cooper Kupp played) from 2009-13 and coached running backs at Chattanooga in 2008.
