Barcelona uninterested in accepting €90 million Arsenal offer for Raphinha

Barcelona are set to reject Arsneal’s reported €90 million offer for in-form Brazilian attacker Raphinha ahead of the January window.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona are uninterested in giving any consideration to a reported offer from Arsenal for Raphinha. The Gunners were ready to make a €90 million bid ahead of January, and given the Brazilian’s performances this season, it’s difficult to see the Catalans selling in the winter window, especially for that price.

Raphinha was reportedly available in the summer, as Barcelona were struggling with financial issues. Moreover, their public pursuit of Nico Williams signalled the end of one of their top stars, with speculation pointing directly towards the Brazilian.

Little did anyone envisage at that point that Raphinha would hit top form and become Barcelona’s most important player this season. Fans have already forgotten about Williams’s failed pursuit, as they are thoroughly invested in watching Raphinha keep performing at his current level.

Hence, Barcelona selling the 27-year-old in-form star would be unprecedented, especially in January, as reports of a €90 million bid from Arsenal emerged. The Gunners are in the market for a top-draw attacker, and they have long held an interest in Raphinha, even during his time at Leeds United.

However, the Catalans have no interest in selling the 27-year-old in-form star in January, particularly not for €90 million. Earlier reports had stated Barcelona wanted €100 million at the very least to consider the prospect of the Brazilian leaving, and they might stick to that price point if ever they needed to sell the winger.

Raphinha unlikely to leave Barcelona in January

Given all the background talk about Arsenal’s interest or Barcelona’s need to sell, the big talking point will be the player’s decision. Raphinha rejected offers in the summer to stay with the Catalans, and he will continue to stick to that decision if rumours of an exit persist.

Raphinha is currently very happy with life in Barcelona, and it’s his dream club. Even if Arsenal or anyone else comes in with an offer that suits Barcelona, the 27-year-old is unlikely to give the green light to the move, as he is firmly expected to stay put in Catalonia.
