Nottingham Forest might be looking to sign Santiago Gimenez but they are also in talks with Arsenal over one of their players too.
The Reds are looking to strengthen the ranks in the last few weeks of the window and Forest are thought to have bid for Gimenez.
Forest have made a big name for themselves in recent transfer windows and have spent a fortune on a number of players.
However, they’ve struggled to really get a top striker into the club and the signing of Gimenez is a hint towards that need being addressed.
But while Gimenez is wanted, it seems Forest are also looking at another striker as well.
Nottingham Forest talking to Arsenal about signing Eddie Nketiah
Updating Sky’s live transfer tracker with information on Eddie Nketiah, Sheth says that both Forest and Palace are in discussions over signing the Arsenal man.
“Meanwhile, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest remain in dialogue with Arsenal over the signing of striker Eddie Nketiah,” Sheth said.
“As yet, no club has met Arsenal’s valuation of the player. Nketiah was an unused substitute in Arsenal’s victory over Wolves on Saturday.
“The forward has three years left on his contract and is looking to move to get more regular first-team football.”
Nketiah facing a big few weeks
Eddie Nketiah has to get out of Arsenal. It’s that simple.
The time has come for him to find a new home and play regularly and prove himself again.
However, he’s going to face a nervy wait to see if someone does buy him. A number of clubs as well as Forest are keen on the striker.
Bournemouth are said to have enquired about Nketiah but they’ve just spent £40m on Evanilson so that could now be dead in the water.
Everton are also fans of Nketiah but they have also spent this summer on the likes of Iliman Ndiaye.
Forest, then, could be a good landing spot for the striker who could end up costing £30m.
