Although there’s only six or so weeks of the transfer window remaining, it still promises to be a summer of change for Arsenal.
So far, Edu and his team haven’t achieved much, perhaps inhibited by the Euros and Copa America.
But Arsenal intend to clear out several players on the periphery of their squad, aiming to replace them with high-calibre alternatives – players Mikel Arteta will trust to play significant minutes.
Last season William Saliba didn’t miss a single Premier League minute, and Bukayo Saka wasn’t far behind either.
But by upgrading the likes of Jakub Kiwior and Reiss Nelson, Arsenal might be able to improve that situation.
That being said, TBR Football understands that Arsenal would be willing to listen to offers for Fabio Vieira.
The 24-year-old signed for Arsenal in 2022 and hasn’t had the desired impact in attacking areas, a player who clearly has a lot of natural talent.
Arsenal are by no means desperate to move Vieira on, but TBR understands that if the right offer arrived, Edu would consider a sale.
Arsenal are happy to sell Fabio Vieira for the right price this summer
During his two seasons in north London, Vieira has made 49 appearances, scoring three goals and providing nine assists.
And although he has delivered some ‘unbelievable’ moments, particularly in an important cameo against Fulham last season, Vieira has shown no kind of consistency in his performances.
Admittedly, that wasn’t helped by the Portuguese midfielder undergoing groin surgery during last season, but he was fit for the majority of the run in and not used.
Of course, it almost feels that Vieira’s current role is to act as a backup to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, an enviable position.
And with his chances already limited, Arsenal’s interest in Nico Williams would only push Vieira back further, given Leandro Trossard can also play centrally.
All in all, it’s clear why Arsenal would consider a sale, a player who at 24 isn’t quite fulfilling his rich potential.
That being said, TBR can also provide an exclusive update on Thomas Partey’s future at Arsenal.
