According to a recent report, Arsenal now have until July 20 to sign a highly sought-after attacker before his £50m release clause expires.
Mikel Arteta will be keeping a close eye on all of the proceedings at Euro 2024 as he looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League title.
Riccardo Calafiori is set to be the first signing through the door with his switch from Bologna now imminent.
Attention may now turn towards another player who starred at Euro 2024 after his release clause got extended.
Dani Olmo gets release clause extended
Dani Olmo has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur over the last few weeks and both clubs have been made aware of his £50m release clause, as reported exclusively by TBR.
Though, his initial clause was due to expire on Monday, July 15, but after his heroic for Spain – netting against France to help them reach the Euro 2024 final – it’s now been extended to July 20, as per Sport.
So, Arsenal now have nine days to work on a deal to sign the RB Leipzig playmaker who is currently on course to win the Golden Boot in Germany.
Chelsea have also been linked of late but they’re unlikely to make a move.
Dani Olmo profile
Olmo, labelled as ‘classy’ per Flashscore, can operate on either flank and as a number 10 – where he has flourished for La Roja this tournament.
The 26-year-old has netted three times whilst laying on two assists for Spain, adding to the 13 goal involvements he managed with the Bundesliga club this term.
If Arsenal were to land his signature, it’d be a really clever addition as he’d provide depth in a number of areas due to his terrific versatility – a trait Arteta is big on.
